Meet the Instructor

Hello and welcome to COCO English!

My name is Nika, and I’m from the Philippines. I have been teaching English as a second language for almost a decade, both in-person and online. Throughout my teaching journey, I have had the privilege of working with wonderful students from Japan—ranging from young beginners to professionals from various industries and government agencies, across all proficiency levels. I’ve taught in English schools, preschools, international elementary schools, and provided private one-on-one lessons to adults in Japan. In 2018, we established ABC School of English in Yokohama, a fun and engaging learning space that became popular among both Japanese and German children in the area. We truly believe that early English education lays the foundation for lifelong language learning. I hold a TESOL qualification and continue to develop teaching methods to offer modern, effective lessons. As a children’s instructor, I also offer professional advice and support to parents to enhance learning at home. ​ At COCO English, we want you to experience the joy of learning and speaking English, and help build your confidence for a brighter future.
